“Listed as "one of the most beautiful villages in France" and I mean it was pretty but in all honesty, it wasn’t really any different than all of the other cute French towns we’ve been to. We went early in the morning so most things were closed and the light was bright. The poppies were blooming so that was pretty but generally I felt the same as I usually do.
In order to try and shoot something I like, I began fogging my lens with my breath to create a cloudy effect. I’m not exactly sure why I’ve been so into covering my lens recently. It seems a few of us in class have been doing the same thing in different ways (fabric, plastic bags, breath). Maybe it has something to do with a disconnect from our current reality or the feeling of living in a dream. Either way, I find it really interesting that this isn’t just a thing I have been doing in this new environment.
I think part of the reason I’ve been indifferent towards most of the towns we’ve been to is that I started my time out of the US in Asia, which was wildly different than anything id ever experienced before. The first time I had ever really traveled I went to India, and then Hong Kong and then Thailand and then France, which in comparison is way more similar to what I’ve known my whole life.
